Prehistoric India

This book was the first to review the archaeology of prehistoric India in relation to that of Western Asia as a whole. Although the great cities of Harappa and Mohenjo-dara are well known, the peasant communities of the Indian Bronze Age in Sind and Baluchistan have received little attention since the time of their first discover thirty years ago. Work in Iraq and Persia has thrown much light on Indian problems, and the contacts and relationships between these regions are described.
