My Grandmother’s Shakespeare is a book of fiction and short stories that is in part autobiographical, and in part, a series of fictional stories with a central theme of family. The anchor story is “My Grandmother’s Shakespeare,” underscores the theme of artistic freedom - a gift from the grandmother the author never knew. The journal that makes up a large part of the second section of the book focuses on the notes that were kept from visits to the Cross Creek home of Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings.
