Dan Baratz was in a state of confusion. Russia had invaded the concentration camp where he was and he had to make a quick decision to run and find his Grandpa, Jacob. Both then set out for his home in Gora. On the way they met youth traveling to the land of promise and freedom. Dan wonders will they make it to Palestine or will they be placed in the concentration camp. Dan is torn because he does not know whether or not he should be a part of the fight.
